Located near shipping ports, Kåge Sawmill has significant capacity for product customization. Sourcing its raw material from slow-grown timber grown in the forests of northern Sweden, Kåge Sawmill has a highly strategic logistical advantage due to its geographic location.
The sawmill utilizes a Linck/Heinola profiling saw line equipped with the latest technology, including active curve sawing and Spline optimization for sawing S-curves, achieving maximum yield from each log at speeds of up to 150 meters per minute.
A new environmentally-friendly biomass boiler was commissioned in 2021 with a capacity of five megawatts. The surplus heat it generates is supplied to Skellefteå Kraft's district heating network, which in turn powers the community in Kåge – a win-win for both the environment and the residents of Kåge.
